• Consider taking “Quantitative Research Methods for Thesis Research”
  (749 M1430).

• Consider attending Thesis and Career workshop.

• Read Thesis Handbook carefully.

• Write your thesis proposal, a short 1-5 page summary of your planned project.

• (please use the template and submit it with the approval page)

• Find your Advisor, who agrees to sign the “Thesis Advisor Agreement Form(pdf)”. If you need help in finding an advisor, please contact the Thesis Committee Coordinator at lvj1214@ntu.edu.tw.

• Fill out the Thesis Proposal and Advisor Agreement Form. Please upload the agreement form signed by your Thesis Advisor and your Thesis Proposal. Please wait for approval from the GMBA Office and the Thesis Committee Coordinator.

• The filenames should be “StudentID_ThesisProposal.pdf” and     "StudentID_AdvisorAgreement.pdf".

 Optional – Thesis Proposal Competition

• Read the Thesis Proposal Competition Rules.

• Complete the Competition Registry Form to sign up for the thesis proposal competition by 2023/11/30.

• Be ready for the final presentation of the competition in 2023/12. The date will be announced later.

• Make sure to complete 39 credits before/in the graduating semester.

• Prepare a transcript(StudentID_Transcript.pdf, sample) to check
  the credits you’ve gained.

• Prepare a course selection result screenshot
  (StudentID_CourseSelection.pdf, sample) to confirm you are taking
  Master Thesis(GMBA7999) with enough credits. 

• Login to MyNTU to fill out the “NTU Application Form for Thesis/Dissertation Application” and download it, which should be signed by your advisor. Scan the signed one and save it as “StudentID_NTUApplicationForm.pdf”(sample).

• Make sure you have made thesis progress (draft in Word, StudentID_ThesisDraft.doc/docx) since the thesis proposal.

• If you need to take the Ethics course, please complete it and get
  the Academic Ethic Course Certificate (pdf, sample)

• Complete the Graduation Plan Form to inform the GMBA Office
  your graduation plan.

• Confirm with your advisor regarding the oral defense committee members, date and venue.

• You are also welcome to start the post-oral defense formatting/grammar check process by submitting an Academic Formatting and English Quality Check request and you will receive your feedback after your oral defense. Please allow sufficient time to also complete this process.

• Submit your thesis to your advisor and the committee members in soft or hard copy, based on their advice.

• Follow up with your committee to ensure that they have received it.

• Complete the Oral Defense Application Form to submit your oral defense application. 

• Receive the following combined Oral Defense Document in PDF from GMBA, containing:

1. Master Thesis Certification by Oral Defense Committee (sample)
2. Thesis Oral Defense Grade Form (sample)
3. Advisor, Thesis Examination, and Transportation Pay list (sample)
4. Global MBA Masters’ Thesis Examination Board (sample)

• Check the air-conditioning with the Receiving Room on 1/F if needed.

• Get the formal appointment certificate and free parking tickets from the GMBA Office for non-NTU committee members.

• Prepare or borrow a laptop, clicker, and/or HDMI/VGA converter, PPT file, PPT slide printouts, your thesis, pens, memo paper, snacks/lunchbox and drink/water.

• Bring the above stuff (laptop, clicker…etc), arrive at the venue early and
  set up and test everything.

• Present your thesis and answer questions. Take note of all the advice and requested amendments.

• Ask the advisor and the committee members to sign:

  1. Master Thesis Certification by Oral Defense Committee
     (signed sample)

  2. Thesis Oral Defense Grade Form (signed sample)

  3. Advisor, Thesis Examination, and Transportation Pay list 
     (signed sample)

• Amend the thesis and get approval from your advisor.

1. Upload the amended thesis to the designated NTU COOL Turnitin Assignment space for the Thesis Originality Check.

2. Fill in and sign the NTU Thesis Originality Form

3. Download the Turnitin report and submit that and the signed NTU Thesis Originality form to your advisor for signature.

• Complete the Signed Oral Defense Documents Upload Form & 
  Academic Formatting and English Quality Check Form (asap) to:

1. Submit the approved thesis to the Thesis Quality Coordinator for Academic Formatting and English Proficiency review. Amend accordingly, and return to the Thesis Quality Coordinator.

2. Upload the signed oral defense documents, including Master Thesis Certification by Oral Defense Committee, Thesis Oral Defense Grade Form and Advisor, Thesis Examination, Transportation Pay list, and signed NTU Thesis Originality form.
