On October 30th, the GMBA collaborated with Ideal Venture Studio to conduct a company visit, providing students with details about the company's operations and the broader industry landscape. Ideal Venture Studio is a one-stop solution for startups, providing services such as fundraising, consulting, accounting, and legal. The company explained the venture builder services that it provides, the fundraising process that startups go through, as well as the South East Asia market ecosystem. The company also offered some practical guidance through a session of pitch dos and don'ts, giving students a detailed guideline on how to make a pitch to investors and attract investors.
Hoping to create the best experience for students, Ideal Venture Studio went the extra mile and invited two accomplished startup founders to join the session. These two founders shared their personal startup experiences, offering real-world insights into the challenges and triumphs of their startup lives. The session was extremely interactive, and many students who are keen on having their startups one day in the future asked many questions.
In summary, this company visit not only equipped the students with practical tools for future pitch presentations but also gave students a deep understanding of what startup studios like Ideal Venture Studio actually do and the value that these companies create for their customers.
On November 6th, GMBA students had the privilege of exploring Delta Electronics, a global leader in power and thermal solutions. Mr. Jair Sossa, representing the company, delivered a comprehensive presentation that covered Delta's corporate mission, impressive achievements, its extensive global presence with offices around the world, and provided a detailed overview of their diverse business categories. To provide a more immersive experience for the students, Mr. Jair personally guided the students through the company's office building, showcasing a variety of its notable products and the cutting-edge technology that is used in those solutions. Mr. Jair explained the major solutions that the company provides ranging from industrial automation solutions to smart energy solutions and the emerging trend of EV charging solutions. The session also highlighted Delta's commitment to eco-friendly solutions, shedding light on their innovative green initiatives.
With the prospect of internships for the upcoming summer, numerous students eagerly engaged with Delta Electronics' HR representatives. They sought additional details about potential job roles, delving into the specific job scopes and requirements. The enthusiasm among students to engage with the company's HR reflected their keen interest in securing opportunities to contribute to and learn from Delta Electronics during the upcoming summer internships.
The third company visit - HPE
On December 18th, GMBA students seized the opportunity to explore Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), the enterprise products and services arm of Hewlett Packard (HP), a global powerhouse in computer hardware and software. HPE provided an insightful overview of its key departments, including Sales, Global Operations Engineering (GOE), Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS), and the Employee Resource Group (ERG). Representatives from each department offered concise summaries of their roles and responsibilities.
Global Operations Engineering (GOE) oversees critical functions such as factory quality management, new product introduction, business process design, and compliance. Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) takes charge of supplier relationship management, data analytics, and the sourcing of contract manufacturers. Employee Resource Group plays a pivotal role in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workforce, ensuring a harmonious and inclusive professional environment. This insightful visit provided GMBA students with a clear understanding of HPE's business operations and its commitment to excellence across different departments.
To conclude the session, HPE demonstrated gracious hospitality by treating students to beverages from a renowned tea shop in Taiwan. Additionally, HPE also distributed beautiful gifts during the QnA session, enhancing students’ participation and making the interactive session even more memorable.
