The 2026 Asian Business Consulting (ABC) program field trip is hosted by SolBridge International School of Business in Daejeon, South Korea. The program presents a dynamic and well structured academic, corporate, and cultural immersion experience to participants from three schools across Asia: National Taiwan University (Taiwan), Prasetiya Mulya University (Indonesia), and SolBridge International School of Business (South Korea). Over the course of the program, participants engage in classroom learning, industry exposure, and hands-on cultural activities, supported by the organized and coordinated Faculty and Staff from all three schools.
Day 1
The 2026 ABC field trip begins on Monday, January 12, with a full day of orientation and academic engagement at SolBridge. Participants was well welcomed by the faculty and staff from Soldbridge starts with registration followed by an opening session that sets the tone for the program. A formal photo session and a guided campus facility tour allow participants to familiarize themselves with the academic environment and institutional resources. After lunch on campus, the afternoon continues with the first academic lecture, “Welcome to Korea,” delivered by Dr. Melanie Fernandes. Day 2
On Tuesday, January 13, the focus shifted from academic orientation to corporate exposure in Seoul. Participants depart early in the morning, traveling from Daejeon to Seoul. The first company visit takes place at POSKOM in Haengsin, where all teams attend together, gaining insight into Korean corporate operations and industry practices. Following the visit, the group travels to central Seoul for lunch at Balsan Samgyetang, a traditional Korean restaurant, providing an opportunity to experience local cuisine. In the afternoon, participants divide into teams for parallel company visits, with some teams visiting KL Cube and others visiting Altava. These site visits offer differentiated perspectives on innovation, technology, and business strategy within Korea’s dynamic startup and corporate ecosystem. The day concludes with a group dinner at StrEAT SPC Square in Seoul before returning to Daejeon in the evening.
Day 3
The final academic and cultural day, Wednesday, January 14, balances classroom discussion with experiential learning. Participants attend a lecture on “Korea’s Entrepreneurship and Startup Ecosystem” presented by Dr. Gilbert Tumibay. This session builds on the previous day’s company visits by providing a broader analytical framework for understanding Korea’s innovation landscape. After lunch, the group departs for the Hyo Korean Cultural Center in Daejeon. The afternoon cultural program includes a guided Korean culture tour featuring a traditional tea ceremony and a hanbok experience, allowing participants to engage directly with Korean heritage and customs.

Day 4 and Day 5
Following the academic, corporate, and cultural components of the program, participants take part in a full day of group work working a cross functional consulting team to provide a well-rounded solution proposal to their assigned company and topics and present on the final presentation day. During this session, teams present their key learnings, reflections, and insights gained from lectures, company visits, and cultural experiences throughout the program. These presentations provide an opportunity for participants to synthesize their observations, demonstrate cross-cultural understanding, and articulate how their assigned companies could conquer the current problems and excel in Korea’s business environment. The program formally concludes with an award ceremony that presents the best teams selected by the faculty and company representatives. At the end of the program, participants, faculty, and organizers were able to reflect on shared experiences, strengthen personal connections, and mark the successful completion of the program.

Overall, the 2026 ABC program successfully integrated academic learning, real-world business exposure, and cultural understanding. By combining structured lectures, company visits, experiential activities, and reflective presentations, the program offers participants a holistic perspective on Korea’s business environment and cultural identity while fostering lasting professional and interpersonal relationships.
