Taiwan is an isolate island surrounded by the seas. To overcome the limitation, international business is one of the best solutions. Therefore, people in Taiwan started developing businesses across the borders much earlier than globalization waves happened.
Nowadays, Taiwan's information and communications technology (ICT) has been marked as global success. Semiconductors, PCs, servers, and LCDs play key roles in the global supply chain. In addition to the achievements of information technology, textile makers in Taiwan create a high-tech niche as well. Energy related companies are also performing the world’s pioneers, including but not limited to bicycles, LEDs and solar cells. Recently, we also aim to achieve the same kind of success in biotechnology as Taiwan has a set of unique characteristics and strengths in this area.
The successes of Taiwan industries are resulted from a highly educated workforce and world-class research facilities, which are mainly supported by National Taiwan University in terms of training and education. Following university’s vision, College of Management is focusing on business talents incubation.
