A landmark event each year on the GMBA calendar. For us, Unity is a time for all of us – students, alumni, faculty, and our community partners – to come together in celebration.

Jamie Lin 林之晨

Jamie Lin began coding at the young age of 10, built his first computer in high school, and later fell in love with the internet of things. To date, Jamie has launched four internet-based firms in both Taiwan and New York after graduating with his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. Today, Jamie is one of the hottest speakers in Taiwan covering entrepreneurial and technology topics.

As a Founding Partner of AppWorks Venture Capital, Jamie manages a portfolio of over USD $61 Million, invested in seed-stage startups. AppWorks kicked off operations in 2010 with the AppWorks Accelerator which is now the largest entrepreneurial accelerator in Asia. Some of the familiar brands such as EZTABLE, Fandora, and Chocolabs can credit a piece of their success to AppWorks.

 
 

Vincent Shih 施立成

Vincent is the General Manager of Microsoft Taiwan leading the Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) department. He has had a distinguished career having been awarded the Microsoft Taiwan GM Award, Microsoft Taiwan Special Award, Microsoft GCR Management Excellence Spot Award, among others. Previously, Vincent worked in the Seattle headquarters of the LCA Intellectual Property Group based, where he obtained a wealth of experience in global IPR strategy and management.

Vincent, an alumnus of the National Taiwan University class of 1989, later moved to California to pursue his education at Berkeley Law, before returning to Taiwan where he received his EMBA from National Chengchi University.

Vincent has served actively across many industry and community associations over the years. Notable positions include: Deputy Chairman of the Taiwan Technology Industry Legal Officers Association (TILO), member of the Executive Board of Information Service industry Association of R.O.C., and Co-chair of the IP & Licensing Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce. Vincent is also an adjunct lecturer and sits in the course planning advisory board of the Institution of Intellectual Property of National Taipei University of Technology.

 

 

Abby Hsieh 謝馨慧

Joining Ogilvy PR as an intern in 1991, Abby had worked her way through the ranks, being promoted through various leadership positions throughout a distinguished career. In her 20-year career in public relations, Abby has completed numerous successful projects focused on brand positioning, strategy development, and crisis management for top consumer brands including Samsung, Adidas, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, and Johnnie Walker. Stepping into her current role as Managing Director at the age of 37, Abby was one of the youngest directors at Ogilvy Public Relations in Taiwan.

Working at one of the largest names in marketing has allowed Abby to work with many big brands and she has many stories to share! Over the past decade, Abby has been the keynote speaker at over 130 events, sharing her strengths in the field of public relations with the members of many different professions. She has also been invited to compose forewords for over 30 books.
